Race Information
Sunday 26 April 2026
Ronez Quarry, Jersey
Get ready for Jersey’s toughest, dirtiest, and most exhilarating run. The True Grit Wetwheels Challenge takes you deep into Ronez Quarry for a 5KM obstacle adventure like no other — packed with climbs, crawls, carries, and camaraderie, all in support of Wetwheels Jersey.
Adult Challenge Overview
The True Grit Wetwheels Challenge is a 5KM obstacle race that tests strength, stamina, and spirit. Starting at the top of Ronez Quarry, runners descend 30 metres below sea level before tackling a course filled with quarry machinery, loose gravel, and rugged terrain — then it’s a climb back to the top to cross the finish line.
Expect mud, grit, and plenty of fun along the way. Obstacles are getting bigger and better for 2026, so be prepared to get hands-on. For those who prefer to keep their feet (mostly) on the ground, a run-only route is also available.
Team & Solo Categories
- Obstacle Solo (16+): Take on the full course yourself.
- Obstacle Team of 3 (16+): Work together and finish together.
- Teams must cross the finish line together — teamwork and encouragement are the name of the game.
The quarry pit currently reaches 30 metres below sea level (and could hit 36m by race day), so expect up to 5KM distance and 130m total elevation gain.

Back by popular demand, our Youth Challenge gives young adventurers a chance to test their true grit too!
- Short Obstacle Course (~2KM): Open to children in Year 4+
- Long Obstacle Course (~4KM): Open to children in Year 6+
